Five Things I’m Watching in Orange County Real Estate

Capital is moving. The interesting question is where it’s going.

This week, I’m looking at BlackRock’s $1.6 billion investment in Southern California apartments, the planned reinvention of Tustin’s Enderle Center, the growth of alternative real estate lending, satellite manufacturing in Irvine and UBS’s investment in premium Orange County office space.

Taken together, these stories point to a larger theme: capital remains available, but it is becoming increasingly selective about where it goes.
